Mtende Foundation offices are located in Mantchewe Village, next to Mantchewe waterfalls – Livingstonia in Rumphi district – Malawi.

Our Thematic Areas

Mtende Homecraft Foundation (MHF) in Livingstonia, Rumphi, Malawi works to improve the issues of poverty, illiteracy, hunger.

Community skills development

Vocational training programme youth adolescent has been very successful over 82 students graduated in tailoring, knitting food production programs. Mtende Foundation secured another funding construction of 20 room girls’ hostel which is underway once completed will ease accommodation challenges at Mtende Community Skills Development Centre faced by girls during training period.

Education

Under this programme, a number of projects have been implemented targeting vulnerable children youth from primary secondary schools. At primary level, distribution of school stationery, books uniforms to over 6,000 learners targeting 10 rural primary schools was achieved supported by Spin the wheel 2 Anike Foundation based in Greece USA

Gender women empowerment

Mtende Vocational Entrepreneurship Program is a community driven innovation initiated facilitated by Mtende Homecraft Foundation trying to empower women youth to acquire vocational entrepreneurial skills knowledge inorder to attain economic empowerment reduce poverty unemployment rate.

Climate environmental management

Under this programme, with support from Global Environmental Facility (GEF) through UNDP- Malawi office, Mtende Foundation embarked on community sensitization campaign capacity building programme that helped to restore environment in most affected areas in our catchment area.

Health HIV/AIDS management

Promoting Community Access to Continuum of HIV Prevention, Care Support Project’ is a community driven initiative facilitated by Mtende Homecraft Foundation a Faith Based Organization, trying to reduce the spread impact of HIV AIDS among vulnerable communities in Livingstonia – Northern Region Malawi.
